AND SO IT BEGINS

The 2010 World Cup predictions competition is now underway with fifteen people entered so far.

I think we should have over 30 players by Friday so a first prize of over £80. If you know anyone who would like to take part just contact me using the methods outlined at the bottom of the rules.


Here are the rules:

World Cup 2010 Prediction League Competition

• Pit your wits against friends, work colleagues and others in our exclusive World Cup 2010 prediction competition.
• All you have to do is predict the score of every game in the tournament.
• The competition table will be updated in a special blog, details supplied to those taking part.
• The entry fee for the event is £5 and payment is by Friday 11th June 2010.

Rules

1 – Predictions must be given to Richard Knowles via email, text, phone, tweet or in person 15 minutes before the kick-off of each game. Any scores given after the start of the game will mean no points for that person for that game.

2 – A correct score will be awarded 3 points (for example you say England 2 USA 2 and the result is England 2 USA 2).

3 – A correct result prediction (for example you say England 1 USA 1 and the result is England 2 USA 2, you will receive 1 point for the correct result i.e the draw). No points will be awarded for any other score prediction.

4 – The winner of the event will be paid 55% of the overall prize fund with second place receiving 30% and third place 15%.

5 – Any problems can be taken up with Richard Knowles via email, text, phone, tweet or in person at anytime during the event.

6 – Everyone will be emailed the latest scores table three times a week.

7 – Result can be sent in one at a time or all at once.

8 – Any changes to a predicted score must take place before that game kicks off.
